FIBER ARTISTS JOIN THE FUN at THE 2023 WOOL FESTIVAL

Ever try spinning blindfolded? Are you a warp speed knitter or a Concours level crocheter?

Join the fun at the MAVWA Wool Festival Sunday in the Guild Tent!

As in the past, on Sunday afternoon at the MAVWA Wool Festival, under the Guild tent, we will have our Spinning, Knitting and Crochet contests.

There is no cost to sign up!

Sign up prior to the contest is encouraged so I can be sure I have enough supplies on hand and can be done prior to the festival or all day Saturday and until noon Sunday at Ellen's Wooly Wonders booth.

Winners get MAVWA Bucks, to use as cash towards purchases at the vendors booths. I will provide white roving, blindfolds and bowls to hold the roving for the spinning contests.

***For spinning contests- PLEASE bring your own spinning wheel, drop spindle or Navajo spindle,

***For Crochet and Knitting contests, please bring your own crochet hooks, knitting needles and yarn

Contests will include

Spinning (for all spinning contests the winner is the person with the longest single spun in 3 minutes)
Speed Spinning-
Blindfolded spinning-
2 person spinning-
Drop Spindle/Navajo Spindle spinning-

Knitting
Speed knitting- CO 10 stitches, winner is the most completed rows in 2 minutes

Blindfolded Knitting- CO 10 stitches, winner is the most completed rows in 2 minutes

Crochet

Speed crochet- You will start with a chain 10 base row. The one who crochets the most completed rows in 2 minutes wins.

Blindfolded Crochet- You will start with a chain 10 base row. The one who crochets the most completed rows in 2 minutes wins.
