Taos Wool Festival 2018 Fleece Show & Sale

Will you and your fleeces be ready?

We’re pleased to announce our 2018 Fleece judge, Jay Begay.

"I’ve been raising sheep my entire life. I currently raise Navajo Churro sheep and Angora goats. I am an avid fiber artist. I was inspired by my maternal grandmother to carry on the tradition of sheep. I have served at the Southwest Regional Director for the Colored Angora Goat Breeders Assc. I’ve judged most recently at the Navajo-Churro Assoc. Annual meeting. I've judged fleeces as well as sheep on the hoof. I've taken wool grading courses at Utah State University. I also volunteer in the summer as a wool/mohair grader during the Navajo Nation annual Wool and Mohair buy held throughout the reservation."

Entrants in the fleece show may again sell their fleeces during the wool festival in the fleece tent.
